Publié le 29 septembre 2022. Une nouvelle campagne vise à éliminer enfin un obstacle financier à la thérapie : une taxe sur les services des thérapeutes-conseils et des psychothérapeutes, que les experts jugent injuste.

OTTAWA, le 20 septembre 2022 — Aujourd'hui, une coalition nationale d'organismes de santé mentale et de counseling/psychothérapie demandent au gouvernement fédéral de supprimer l'exigence inéquitable de la TPS/TVH pour les thérapeutes-conseils et les psychothérapeutes en adoptant immédiatement une loi visant à rendre les services de thérapie exonérés d'impôt. au Canada.

Des groupes ont fait pression sur le gouvernement pendant des années en vain pour qu'il supprime la TVH sur les services de counseling. Si les gouvernements veulent améliorer l'accès à des conseils qualifiés en santé mentale, ils devraient cesser de taxer ces services, affirment les conseillers thérapeutes agréés de la province.
